IIT-BHU students have a dedicated site for internship

The race for a place in the corporate world is getting fiercer by the day. Students fresh out of college find it even hard to get a good internship, leave alone a decent job.

But to ease the pressure of students, two undergraduates from Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) have formed an online portal 'www.internlelo.com' which contains all the information about internship options available in various fields.

The portal primarily provides all the information about internship opportunities in different fields including details of duration of internship, stipend, eligibility and other necessary information.

At the same time it also has information about workshops, conferences, campus ambassador programs, technical and management events organised in college campuses or companies across the globe.

The young entrepreneurs who have conceptualized the idea are pre-incubated at Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at IIT-BHU for further supervision and direction. According to coordinator, TBI, IIT-BHU, Prof PK Mishra, the students have introduced a very unique concept and have already gained popularity in the campus itself in very less time.

Further assistance and supervision will be provided to them to expand their venture for future, he said.

The idea of an online portal for internships and other events was conceived by two undergraduate students of Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Vishesh Sharma and Utkarsh Garg and one computer science graduate Ashish Sharma.

According to them, a team of about 20 students from IIT is working for this initiative in different departments. The web portal was launched on November 14, and was an overnight hit among students of various colleges and universities.

Talking to TOI on Tuesday, Vishesh, who is a third year student of ceramic engineering said, "The website is beneficial for students. Apart from technical and management options, the site will be helpful even for graduates with subject including social science, arts, humanities, science and education."

"The site will provide information about engineering, MBA, international internships including NGO and government internships.

All the information about the duration of internship, stipend, eligibility and other necessary information will be available on a single window for students. At the same time, we are collaborating with start-ups so that students can be hired for internships directly. Our mission is to spread awareness about all the opportunities available round the globe and make our student community aware.

Students can also upload their curriculum vitae (CV) on the website. Moreover, candidates can seek help on their communication skills as well," informed Vishesh.
